Geography of Ancient Hatti
The Hittites were an ancient European civilization that was located in modern day Turkey and was located from 35 to 40 degrees latitude and from 25 to 45 degrees longitude. They were bordered by 3 bodies of water: the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea, and the Aegean Sea. Hatti had a climate that was all over the place. The parts that were bordering the Mediterranean Sea were hot and dry in the summer and cool and wet in the winter. The coastal areas by the Black Sea had wet, warm summers and cool wet winters. In the middle of Hatti the weather was much worse because the weather changed so much between seasons. In the East part, temperatures could get down to -30 degrees Celcius in the winter. The West was not so bad with temperatures averaging 1 degree Celcius in the winter. The summers were hot and dry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_Turkey
